Q: Can any of your inflatable rides and games be used indoors?

A: Yes, many of them, like the bouncers, obstacle courses, and games, can be used indoors as long as there is the room to set them up. There are not only width and length requirements, but height requirements as well. For use indoors, we recommend a large gymnasium type venue, where the space is usually adequate for both the inflatable and for the safety of the people using the ride and/or game. We have accommodated indoor venues in school gyms and large high ceiling lobbies in office buildings. In addition, the power supply can be an issue. All the inflatables are kept inflated by the constant flow of air throughout the use of the ride/game via an air blower. In outdoor venues, Gooseberry Grove can supply a gasoline generator for power if necessary; however, this may be an issue indoors if not enough power is available on site. Please note that for obvious reasons inflatable WATER slides are NOT intended or recommended for indoor use. Please call and we’ll be happy to discuss all of your options in using inflatable rides and games at your indoor venue.

Q: Are there any requirements to having inflatable rides and/or games in my backyard?

A: The primary issue is almost always SPACE. We suggest you take the time to look at the inflatable rides and games we offer. It might be a good idea to measure amount of “available” space in your backyard. Then check out our available inflatables. Many show the size of the inflatable and the suggested capacity of the ride, (as well as age requirements). We suggest you use this as a preliminary guide to have in mind when calling us to arrange for Gooseberry Grove to bring inflatables to your backyard outdoor venue. The second issue is ELECTRICAL POWER. Inflatables use air blowers to keep them inflated. These air blowers require electricity, (a standard 110 AC), and use about the same electricity as a large fan. Keeping that in mind, too many of anything can blow a fuse/circuit breaker. So if you don’t have enough electrical power going to your backyard WE can supply a gasoline generator that can supply enough electrical power to operate a number of inflatables simultaneously. Just ask. The third issue is WATER. Inflatable water slides need a water source AND a water runoff area. Water slides DO NOT recirculate the water, (primarily for heath reasons), so a constant flow of water from a standard garden hose is needed per water slide. Typically a backyard party has only ONE waterslide, however there are many large yards on Long Island that can and have accommodated multiple water slides. As always, all of these details and requirements will be reviewed and discussed when you call to schedule Gooseberry Grove to supply inflatables to your backyard event.

Q: Are inflatables just for kids?

A: No. Sure many of the rides are for children. Some are ONLY for little children. However, Gooseberry Grove has supplied inflatable rides and games for many events that both teenagers and adults spent hours amusing themselves with. Besides all the games, like “Full Court Press”, “Pitch Burst”, and “Midway”, there are many wet and dry inflatables that teens and adults love, like “Adrenaline Rush”, the “ Rock Wall”, and “Tiki Slide”. When you call we’ll discuss what the right mix of inflatables and other rides and games are best suited to your special event.

Q: Do you just drop off the inflatables and come back to pick them up?

A: Absolutely NOT! Although these inflatables are soft and filled with air, people always find a way to hurt themselves, or use the rides in a manner that was NOT intended. Gooseberry Grove staff comes with EACH one of the inflatable rides, (dry and wet). Our uniformed staff members see to it that safety remains our primary issue. Because nobody ever has a good time when somebody gets hurt or is injured. And our customers appreciate it when our attention to safety reduces accidents and injuries, because that reduces liability for everybody, and puts a big smile on everyone’s face at the end of the day!

Q: Have you done many events?

A: Hundreds. We’ve done small birthday parties. We’ve done large fund raising events. And we’ve done HUGE family reunions and corporate picnics. We supplied as little as a single Sno Cone machine with a uniformed staff operator to four dry and three wet slides, three bouncers and eight games, with 28 uniformed Gooseberry Grove staffers/servers, along with several concession carts, and catered all the tables and chairs, besides all the food service AND live entertainment including clowns, a magician, and even the DJ. Big, small, we’ve done it all.
